Product Description
Electrotechnical steel
Electrical steel, also known as silicon steel, is a type of steel containing silicon special steel that can exhibit some special magnetic properties such as creating a hysteresis region, increasing magnetic permeability and reducing core losses, are electrical field widely used soft magnetic alloy.
Electrical steel is usually available in cold rolled and are generally less than 2 mm thick. Multiple pieces of electrical steel are usually pressed into laminated sheets, commonly known as silicon steel sheets which is used in transformers and electric motors in transformers and electric motors stators and rotor of the magnetic core . The electrical steel is usually pressed into laminated sheets using concave and convex die , and laser or EDM Cutting and forming.
Silicon steel can be divided into two categories: oriented silicon steel and non-oriented silicon steel. The magnetic properties of oriented silicon steel are strongly directional, with the lowest iron loss in the rolling direction, the highest permeability and high magnetic susceptibility under a certain magnetization field. The silicon content of oriented silicon steel is about 3%, and requires low oxide inclusions in the steel, and must contain some kind of inhibitor (MnS, A1N ), because it is mostly used in transformer core manufacturing, so also known as cold-rolled transformer steel.
The carbon content of non-oriented silicon steel is very low, with silicon content between 0.8% and 4.8%. The addition of silicon can improve the resistivity and maximum permeability of iron, reduce coercivity, core loss (iron loss) and magnetic aging. In the deformation and annealing of the steel plate in its grain is irregularly oriented distribution, by hot and cold-rolled into the thickness of 1mm or less silicon steel sheet.
Silicon steel by application is divided into Hot rolled silicon steel, and Cold Rolled Electrical steel and special-purpose silicon steel are the three main categories. Cold-rolled sheet has uniform thickness, good surface quality and higher magnetic properties, which gradually replace hot-rolled sheet. Low silicon sheet contains less than 2.8% silicon, it has a certain mechanical strength; high silicon sheet contains 2.8%-4.8% silicon, it has good magnetic properties, but is more brittle. [1]
1. Hot-rolled silicon steel, which is non-oriented silicon steel, can be further subdivided into hot-rolled low silicon steel (motor steel) and hot-rolled high silicon steel (transformer steel). The silicon content of hot rolled low silicon steel is between 1.0% and 2.5% and is mainly used in household motors and micro motors, etc.; the silicon content of hot rolled high silicon steel is between 3.0% and 4.5% and is mainly used in transformers. The silicon content of hot-rolled high silicon steel is between 3.0% and 4.5% and is mainly used in transformers.
2. Cold-rolled electrical steel can be divided into cold-rolled oriented electrical steel and cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel. Cold-rolled oriented silicon steel is further divided into ordinary oriented silicon steel and high magnetic inductance oriented silicon steel, both of which are used in large and medium-sized transformers; cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel is divided into low carbon electrical steel (silicon content less than or equal to 0.5%) and silicon steel (silicon content in 0.5%-3.5%). Low carbon electrical steel is used in household motors, micro-motor small transformers and ballasts, while silicon steel is used in large and medium-sized motors, generators and transformers. From the above uses, cold rolled oriented electrical steel and hot rolled high silicon steel are used for similar purposes, both for transformers, while cold rolled non-oriented electrical steel is again similar to hot rolled low silicon steel, both for motors.
3. There are four types of special-purpose silicon steel: cold-rolled oriented silicon steel thin strip, cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel thin strip, cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel for magnetic switches, and cold-rolled high silicon steel. The applications of cold-rolled silicon steel thin strip are pulse transformers, magnetic amplifiers, high-frequency transformers and welding machines; the applications of cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel thin strip are high-frequency motors and generators; the applications of cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel for magnetic switches are relays and magnetic switches; and the applications of cold-rolled high silicon steel are high-frequency motors, transformers and magnetic shields.
